For years the freelancers have demanded improvements and it seems that they are about to see the light. The Congress of Deputies is finalizing the reform of the autonomous law for its final approval. 90% of the Catalan business network is made up of freelancers and small and medium-sized businesses.
The law includes some of the historical demands of this group, in order to make them more flexible, improve tax treatment or facilitate the processes of staff recruitment for SMEs and freelancers, among others.
The text also predicts that the flat rate that entrepreneurs have (that is, pay only a monthly fee of € 50) goes from six months to a year. Other measures contemplated by the law are coverage in the event of an occupational accident during travel. It is also foreseen the deduction of 20% of the IRPF in the expenses of light, gas, water and telephone.
